The Comma butterfly is a curious butterfly species found in Europe and parts of Asia. It gets its name from the characteristic white comma-shaped mark on its wings, which are jaggedly-edged and a mix of orange, brown, and black, in colour, providing excellent camouflage against tree bark and leaves. This distinctive jagged outline helps it blend in with dead leaves and protect itself from potential predators. Typically Nettles are the best host plant for Comma caterpillars, although they do feed on Hops and Willows, among a few others. Adult butterflies are cute and active
