This is a fun native species to rear with its large, fluffy caterpillars and characterful moths!
Host plants: Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna). Also recorded on sallows, Heathers etc.
Difficulty: Very easy (1/10)
Temperature: Room temp. or outside.
Lifecycle: Continually brooded indoors; larvae will go dormant in winter outdoors, then wake up in spring.
