Madagascan Bullseye Moth | Antherina suraka EGGS
Madagascan Bullseye Moth | Antherina suraka EGGS
This species possibly has the most eye-catching caterpillar of any currently in the hobby - they are also incredibly variable with multiple patterns and colour forms in shades of green, blue, yellow, and black, with bright red tubercles. Known commonly as the Madagascan Bullseye Moth, Antherina suraka is a mid-sized silkmoth that is indigenous to Madagascar, meaning it exists nowhere else in the world. It is also unique as a species, being the only one in its family, having previously been considered a member of Antheraea. Various host plants are accepted, but Privet reliably gives the best results. Cocoons, spun among host plant leaves, are made of a mesh structure.
