About

Bugs & Butterflies UK was founded originally as a small hobby outlet for surplus livestock. Soon it was clear that there was a large customer base interested in the insect-rearing hobby and the site grew to become a business supplying thousands of customers with dozens of species of butterflies, moths and other insects.

Our customers include a diverse group of hobbyists, enthusiasts, collectors, educators and academic institutions, as well as various zoos and butterfly houses around the UK and Europe.

Tens of thousands of eggs, caterpillars and pupae are distributed to customers annually. Many of our customers include zoos and universities that contribute to conservation, whilst others are naturalists keen to make a difference in their area - often through schools and community projects.
