MAY: Macedonian Crested Newt Newt LARVAE

from £35.00

This listing is for established larvae at about 2-3cm - I won’t sell eggs of this species as only half are viable. This line is originally from Smolikas Mountain in Greece. The species is very easy to keep and highly aquatic. Triturus macedonicus (Karaman, 1922), the Macedonian Crested Newt, is a species related to our own Great Crested Newt, Triturus cristatus. These are large newts, ultimately reaching around 15-18cm in length. Their natural habitat consists of cool, freshwater ponds and lakes in Greece and Macedonia. Dendrobaena earthworms and/or cichlid pellets are excellent staple food items, and can also be supplemented with frozen food items and other live foods.
