MAY/JUNE: European Tree Frog TADPOLES

Breeding typically begins in May. Hyla arborea, commonly known as the European tree frog, is a charming amphibian found throughout Europe. These small frogs are renowned for their vivid green skin, which provides excellent camouflage among vegetation. They are adept climbers, utilizing their adhesive toe pads to navigate trees and shrubs, hence their name. European tree frogs are primarily arboreal, but they also inhabit various wetlands, including ponds, marshes, and slow-moving streams. They are nocturnal creatures, emerging at night to hunt insects and small invertebrates. During the breeding season, males produce distinctive, loud calls to attract females.
