Rothschildia are a family of small-medium atlas moths from the Americas, particularly abundant in Central and South America. They are typically easy to rear and breed in captivity, and very colourful both as caterpillars and moths. The best host plant at this time of year is Privet, although Sumac and Sweetgum are also excellent if they are still in leaf in your area. Caterpillars are striped with orange and black!
