Often known as the Great Eggfly or Blue Moon Butterfly, bolina is a butterfly species found in various parts of the world, including Africa, Asia, Australia, and some Pacific islands. It belongs to the Nymphalidae family and is known for its sexual dimorphism, with males and females having different wing patterns and multiple different forms. They are very easy to look after in captivity and usually breed without much input. This is an ideal introduction to exotic butterflies, but is equally as enjoyable for experts - I always have a colony in my butterfly house! Host plants include: Morning Glory, Ruellia, Asystasia, and Nettles.
