Gonimbrasia tyrrhea, commonly known as the Zigzag Emperor, is a species of Giant Silk Moth found in the southern parts of Africa. Caterpillars are straightforward to rear and reach over 10cm in length, feeding on hosts such as: Oak, Sweet Gum, Willow, Cherry Laurel, and others. Pupae, if kept warm and humid, will emerge in about 2 months, but often go dormant if it is too cold or dry for them.
